Quoting a post

To quote part of another post in your reply:

  1. At the bottom right of the post you want to quote, click Quote.
  2. When the new message box opens (showing the text of the original post in quote syntax), delete any text you do not want to quote and add your own comments.
  3. When you are finished, click Submit.

To include multiple quotes in one reply (quote several points you want to comment on individually):

  1. At the bottom right of the post you want to quote, click Quote.
  2. When the new message box opens (showing the text of the original post in quote syntax), delete any text you do not want to quote and add your own comments.
  3. Put quote syntax that identifies the original poster around the first segment: [quote=User]Text by User that you are quoting[/quote].
  4. Put normal quote syntax around subsequent segments: [quote]More quoted text[/quote].
  5. Write your comments between the quoted segments.
  6. Click Preview to review your post and make any necessary changes.
  7. When you are finished, click Submit.

To quote a post or part of a post in another forum:

  1. Copy the text you want to quote.
  2. Click Post Reply to open a new message box.
  3. Paste the text into the message box.
  4. Put quote syntax that identifies the original poster around the segment: [quote=User]Pasted quote[/quote]
  5. Click Preview to review your post and make changes as needed.
  6. When you are finished, click Submit.
