This page presents notes in very brief form, for common actions. Category SEE Subcategory
Category page, create--Add a link to the category at the bottom of a page that you want to list in that category (on that category page): [[category:Name of Category]]. If you have inexperienced users, adding a comment is a good idea: <!-- Category tags - DO NOT DELETE! -->.
Category page, link to--Provide a link so readers can navigate to a category page: [[:category:Name]]
Cross reference, create--Add the link to the page and section heading, with the link label: [[Title of Page#Section Heading|Section Heading]]
Image, insert--Upload the image. Add the link to the page: [[image:filename.png]] (or .gif).
Image, insert with caption---Add the link: [[image:filename.png|Text of Caption]]
Image, float right or left--Add the link (example shows right): [[image:filename.png|right]]
Image, make thumbnail--Add the link: [[image:filename.png|thumbnail]]
Page, create--Add a link to the page. Use the title you want: [[Title of New Page]].
Page, link to--Add a link to the page: [[Title of Page]].
Table of contents, create--Add a third level heading to the page: ===Level three===.
- Destry 11:16, 18 August 2007 (UTC) : Based on the Forum Help index (which uses only h2 level headers), this info does not appear to be entirely correct, thus there's more to it than what I was originally aware of. In addition to adding third levels (i.e., h3) it might also be a function of having a certain minimum amount of h2 levels as well. The issue needs research, and Google's your friend.
Table of contents, suppress--Place this code at the top of the page: __NOTOC__.
Template, create--At the place where you want the template to be inserted, place the template tag: {{template:Template Page Title}}. As soon as the template is populated, the content replaces the tag.
Template, link to--Provide a link so readers can navigate to the template page: [[template:Template Page Title]]
Web page, link to--Add a link to the page: [http://url.tld Link Label]. There is a space between the URL and the link label.
