They have a strong team-oriented philosophy which extends to close cooperation with programmers, developers and technicians.</p>
<p>They are currently seeking an experienced Technical Translator from German into English. This post runs from 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009, with possibilities for renewing.<br />
As a member of the Technical Publication team, your tasks will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Translating technical documentation (online guides, manuals, etc.) for various products from German into English.</li>
<li>Research and define terminology in cooperation with technical and product managers.</li>
<li>Provide quality control for translations made by external suppliers.</li>
<li>Perform linguistic analysis and correct interface errors in software modules.</li>
</ul>
<p>Your audience will be Systems Integrators and similar technically qualified readers. All material must be written with a view to localisation.</p>
<p><strong>Y</strong>our experience<br />
You must be an EU citizen or hold a regular work permit for Italy. In addition we require:</p>
<ul>
<li>Degree in translation or language studies.</li>
<li>Degree or strong experience in a technical area (engineering, information technology…)</li>

<li>Advanced Trados skills.</li>

<p>For an international project involving France, Germany, the US and Asia, they are currently seeking a technical author in Automation Technology to join their team. The salary range is 30-40K Euros, depending on experience.</p>
<p>Your role would be to develop and author documentation for use and maintenance of automated products and systems.<br />
Documentation sets include technical notices, user manuals, and online help.</p>

<li>Strong technical experience, with a background in automation (strongly preferred) or electrical or mechanical engineering, are sought.</li>
<li>Programming skills would be a definite plus.</li>

The Technical Writer produces documentation and training materials for our client’s information products.  This role is involved in developing and maintaining documentation, including support items for the knowledge base, as well as writing enhancements or updates for existing documentation.</p>

The Technical Writer will produce documentation and training materials for information products, as well as testing training materials and documentation to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date.<br />
A general list of responsibilities follows.  Precise responsibilities will be assigned based on candidate’s current skills and the needs of the department.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities/Skills Required:</strong></p>

<li>Research, write, and test original documentation and training materials to ensure technical accuracy and fit with house style.</li>
<li>Revise documentation and training materials to improve quality of content or to describe product enhancements</li>
<li>Create conceptual graphics, screenshots, and callouts using PaintShop Pro or Snagit.</li>
<li>Develop expertise in subject areas of responsibility including all Division and Performance Management products.</li>
<li>Convert source documentation to online help and validate online help.</li>
<li>Track information development plans and proposed bug fixes using engineering department Wikis and Bugzilla.</li>
<li>Perform final production on books, verify Postscript or PDF output, and transfer files to print vendor.</li>
<li>Provide peer editing and technical testing of material developed by other writers.</li>
<li>Develop useful and appropriate examples for very technical products.</li>
<li>Develop training exercises.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Salary:</strong> 	100(+)K CHF or 63K Euros/annual</p>

<p>The Technical Writer produces documentation and training materials for Actuate information products. This role is involved in developing and maintaining documentation, including support items for the knowledge base, as well as writing enhancements or updates for existing documentation. The Technical Writer will also be involved in testing training materials and documentation to ensure that the information is accurate and up-to-date. <p><strong><u>Responsibilities</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Research, write, and test original documentation and training materials to ensure technical accuracy as well as fit with Actuate house style.</li>
<li>Revise documentation and training materials to improve quality of content or to describe product enhancements.</li>
<li>Create conceptual graphics, screenshots, and callouts using PaintShop Pro or Sangit.</li>
<li>Develop expertise in subject areas of responsibility including all Actuate and Performance Management products</li>
<li>Convert source documentation to online help and validate online help.</li>
<li>Track information development plans and proposed bug fixes using engineering department Wikis and Bugzilla.</li>
<li>Perform final production on books, verify Postscript or PDF output, and transfer files to print vendor.</li>
<li>Provide peer editing and technical testing of material developed by other writers.</li>
<li>Develop useful and appropriate examples for very technical products.</li>
<li>Develop training exercises.</li>

<p><strong><u>Requirements</u></strong><u><br />

<ul>
<li>Technical degree in appropriate discipline (computer science or engineering) or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Course work, certificate, or degree in technical writing or similar field desirable</li>
<li>Minimum of two years experience writing documentation or training materials preferred, but recent graduates considered</li>
<li>Software industry experience a plus</li>
<li>Ability to use standard technical writing tools such as FrameMaker, X-Metal, Word, PaintShop Pro, Snaglt, Microsoft Project, Bugzilla, Perforce, and SourceSafe</li>
<li>Aptitude for working with products      under development and cutting edge technology</li>
<li>Knowledge of some of the following      required: databases, Java, Excel, server technology, Web Services,      Microsoft Foundation Classes, C#, C++, and APIs</li>
<li>Proficient in business-level English      both oral and written; knowledge of one or more of the following languages      desirable: French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean</li>
<li>Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team</li>
