Technischen Redakteur (m/w)

Ihre Aufgaben:

  • Erstellung technischer Betriebsanleitungen z.B. Bereich Automatisierungs­technik
  • Begleitung aller Phasen des Erstellungsprozesses von der Recherche bis zur Freigabe der Dokumente in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Produktentwicklern
  • Gut verständliche und zielgruppenorientierte Darstellung technischer Zusammenhänge
  • Ihr Profil:

  • Studium als Technische(r) Redakteur(in) bzw. entsprechende Berufserfahrung
  • Freude an der klaren sprachlichen Darstellung komplexer technischer Sachverhalte
  • Sprachliche Sicherheit in Deutsch
  • Gute Englischkenntnisse
  • Sicherer Umgang mit Office-, DTP- und Grafik-Programmen
  • Möglichst XML-Kenntnisse und CMS-Erfahrung
  • Kommunikationstalent, Teamfähigkeit, Belastbarkeit, schnelle Auffassungsgabe

    Reports To: Operations Manager

    Job Purpose:

    • To coordinate all technical publication activities on behalf of a customer.
    • To coordinate all internal and external suppliers involved in delivery of the customer contract.
    • To assure quality of the deliverables and the process.
    • To keep projects on cost and time.

     Principal Accountabilities:

    The Tech Pub coordinator is accountable for producing technical documentation that consistently meets the quality, cost and delivery requirements for the customer.

    Job responsibilities include:

    • Generation of each new target skeleton draft manuals based on the bill of material of a new product.
    • Development of and delivery of documentation according to Tech Pub development plan, including authoring and localisation.
    • Negotiating and monitoring all costs and budgets, developing schedules and facilitating communication between customer, suppliers and Xerox.
    • Allocation and monitoring of production resources (authors and translators) from internal and vendor base, in order to deliver to service level agreement.
    • Development, implementation and monitoring production processes and tools in order to maximise efficiency and ensure adherence to and reporting on financial management practices.
    • Contributing to planning, development and implementation of Tech Pub performance and process improvements and innovations with the customer.

    External Relationships:

    • Customer Tech Pubs manager / team
    • Customer project manager / team
    • Key customer business stakeholders (sponsors)
    •  Supplier project managers / delivery resources

    Background, Experience and Achievements:

    • Experience of project managing / leading significant authoring/technical writing programmes
    • A proven record in managing people –preferably in an operations environment or a large project team
    • Knowledge and experience in XML based structure authoring
    • Knowledge and experience in management of quality of technical publications

    Education:

    • A recognised technical writing and project management qualification

    Commercial and Technical Knowledge:

    Understanding and awareness of the following:

    • Excellent understanding of Discrete Manufacturing  supply chain, product launch, product lifecycle management, and Product documentation lifecycle management.
    • Knowledge of localisation services, technical authoring, XML, DITA preferred, SGML publishing.
    • Knowledge and use of ECMS with Workflow and Records Management experience
    • Operations Management
    • Ev. six sigma or other QM or business process improvement methodology training

    Intern Wanted!

    Are you passionate about technology? About writing? We are looking for an intern who is a motivated team player and has an interest in writing/communicating about technology, a willingness to work hard, and a desire to learn.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Writing documentation, such as online help or user guides, for software development projects
    • Updating TCR style and usage standards and procedures guides
    • Helping implement an XML-publishing system
    • Participating in other activities as directed

     Skills required:

    • Have excellent/near-perfect English writing skills
    • Be enthusiastic about technology and want to share your interest with others
    • Be a senior or graduate student
    • Be comfortable in a diverse environment with people from around the world

    Other internship possibilities in the software development team:
