Web accessibility in the European Union

The article discusses efforts to harmonize the methodologies for achieving the goal of accessible websites. These efforts include:
The EU Web Accessibility Benchmarking Cluster (WAB), “a cluster of European projects to develop a harmonized European methodology for evaluation and benchmarking of websites.”
European Internet Accessibility Observatory (EIAO), which aims to establish benchmarking.
Support-EAM (Supporting the creation of a e-Accessibility Quality Mark) with the objective of “propos(ing) a strategy for creating a Web Accessibility Quality Mark for Web services by the end of 2005, as part of the Action Plan eEurope 2005: An information society for all.”
