New Atlantic Canada chapter

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Just learned that we have a new provisional chapter for Atlantic Canada. I don’t have a lot of details right now but I think it’s a great addition. Hopefully it will garner enough interest to get out of provisional status.

issues that are unique to Canada

Monday, May 7th, 2007

One of this SIGs goals is to educate members of STC internationally about issues that are unique to Canada. I’m kind of weak in this area; I know that our tax situation is different here than in the U.S., but I suppose any part of the Society outside of the U.S. could say the same thing.

What are issues do you think are unique to STC members — and technical communicators — in Canada? And of these, which do you think are important to educate the rest of STC about, and why?

STC Canadian Community at the conference

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Thanks to conference delegate and Membership Manager, Todd Race, our community will make its presence felt at the STC conference. If you’re attending the conference, meet fellow Canadian technical communicators:

  • At the Welcome Reception - we have a table near where you purchase drinks.
  • At Monday’s networking luncheon - pull up a chair at the Canadian Issues SIG table.
  • At the SIG breakfast meeting on Wednesday in Mezzanine 100B.
